Description
What is MOTS-c?
MOTS-c is a peptide. A peptide is a short chain of the same building blocks that make up protein. Your body makes MOTS-c naturally, in the parts of your cells that make energy. Scientists first described it in 2015. Ours is made in a lab to match the natural one.
What is it for?
People look into MOTS-c for energy and how the body handles sugar, especially as we age. The main areas are:
- Exercise. Exercise raises MOTS-c levels in people. In mice, extra MOTS-c helped them run longer, even when they were old.
- Blood sugar. In mice, MOTS-c helped muscles use sugar from the blood. It also helped protect them from weight gain on a high-fat diet.
- Ageing. Studies suggest MOTS-c levels drop as we get older. Scientists want to know if this plays a part in slowing down with age.
How does it work?
Your cells have tiny parts that turn food into energy. These parts make MOTS-c and use it to send messages to the rest of the cell. When a cell is under stress, like during exercise or when food is low, MOTS-c moves into the cell’s control centre. There, it helps switch on genes that help the cell cope and use sugar well. Scientists think this is how it helped muscles use sugar in animal studies.
How strong is the proof?
Most of the research on MOTS-c was done in cells and in animals, like mice. Studies in people so far mostly measure how much MOTS-c the body makes on its own. It is not an approved medicine in Canada. We don’t promise any results.
What you get
- One sealed vial with 10mg of MOTS-c as a dry powder
- 98% pure or higher, tested by an outside lab
- A lab report for every batch
- Shipped from Vancouver, BC, with an ice pack
- Buy 1, 3, 5 or 10 vials. The more you buy, the less each vial costs.
How do I mix and store it?
The peptide comes as a dry powder because powder stays fresh much longer than liquid. Before it can be used, the powder is mixed with bacteriostatic water, which is clean water made for this job. Our mixing calculator shows how much water to add. Keep sealed vials in a cool, dry, dark place. Once mixed, keep the vial in the fridge.

Common questions
What is the difference between MOTS-c and Semaglutide?
They work in very different ways. Semaglutide copies a gut hormone that makes people feel full, and it is an approved medicine. MOTS-c comes from the energy-making parts of your cells and is linked to how muscles use sugar. MOTS-c is still mostly studied in animals.
Does my body make MOTS-c?
Yes. Your cells make it naturally. Exercise raises the amount, and levels seem to drop with age.
Are there side effects?
Side effects have not been well studied in people, because there are very few human studies.
Why does it come as a powder?
Peptides break down fast in liquid. A dry powder stays stable while it ships and while it is stored.
Can I see the lab report?
Yes. Posted reports are on our lab results page. If your batch isn’t there yet, email us the batch number and we’ll send it to you.
Do you ship across Canada?
Yes. We ship from Vancouver, BC, to anywhere in Canada. Orders are packed with an ice pack to keep them cool.
